There is nothing difficult and stressful about Islam. The only difficult and stressful things are people and their misinterpretations of it.
If you're like me, you've lived in an Islamic society in which many adult Muslims we look up to make it seem like Islam is all about complete devotion with no much time for fun. While it is about complete devotion, who says that can't include relaxing and having a good time?
The Prophet Muhammed (s) used to relax, joke around with his wives, and even wrestle with his friends.
Just as Allah swt says in this beautiful Ayah: "Allah intends for you ease, and does not want to make things difficult for you" [2: 185]
So why make it difficult for yourself?
(If you want more information on Islam and fun, read this post.)
Having said all that, I'd love to post pictures of me and Fayha's Thanksgiving Break in Corpus Christi, TX:
 |
Fayha and I in the lobby. We both wore skirts and stripes. :) I got my shirt from Cotton on for $20.00, my skirt from Forever 21 sale section $5.00 and my mustard yellow hijab from target for $15.00. I love pairing long and wide shirts with a straight skirt. I have no idea where Fayha got her lovely outfit from, you should ask her! :) |
 |
Fayha, Razan, and I at a restaurant. If you're going to a beach area, I advise you bring clothes to wear at night AND a lazy outfit to wear during the day. You'll probably get them dirty and sandy. Blazer: thrifted Shirt: Forever 21 around $20.00 |

Fayha and I on the beach. Lesson number one: BRING EXTRA JEANS. Cardigan: Forever 21 around $20.00 |
 |
We had a very Arab party on the ferry. Drums and singing. Bring drums when you go on big road trips, it makes everything so 10x funner!

| The caption was for my journalism class, but I love this picture of Fayha's sister. |

Make sure, when you go on vacation, to do it with people you enjoy hanging out with the most. I absolutely love this entire group right here. :)
This started out with a few families trying to get together and ended up with around 300 people in our group total. It's our entire masjid group. Remember, it is important in Islam to strengthen ties between member of our Ummah. Every Muslim community definitely needs to plan things like this! |
Here is an adorable little video of our trip Fayha made :) Enjoy!
