DIY- Military Blazer

Have any old and unused accessories sitting around even after you've organized them with Dallah's tips on jewelry organization? How about using them to give your own clothes a fashion makeover? I want to share what I did one day with my mom's old army suit and a multi chain link necklace I haven't worn in years. I've been seeing metals used to add details to clothing and instantly fell in love with them.

Inspired, I wanted to create my own version below:

The front and back of the blazer with the added DIY chain accessories

The original necklace was originally from Forever 21 and looked something like this in all gold

I used a pair of pliers to take it apart into individual strands and then to "cut" the strands into shorter lengths. Then I reattached them to a main strand as shown above. The main strand is the original length of the necklace and extends across the back onto the other shoulder (shown above). I used safety pins to hold them into place. This is also so I can remove the chains if I want and wear it as a new necklace as shown below.

There you go! It was quite simple and fun to make. Try figuring out how you can take apart something you already have and use it to add on to something else, or even create something new. Get inspired and be creative. I'll be back with more next time inshAllah :)

Have fun
-Astrid
