Hearts for Syria
In the Spirit of Valentine's Day
So every year I celebrate Valentine's Day as a day of friendship and take a moment to be thankful for everyone that I love. This year, a lot of us are full of sadness for the people suffering all over the world. Especially for Syria during this hard time (check it out).
If you are not aware there is a murder going on right at this very moment. This past week entire families have been murdered by the Syrian government in Homs, Syria. The most I can do, or you can do is raise awareness! Every human life is valuable and this is truly heart breaking. This Valentine's Day, I ask of you. To please. Remember the people of Syria, Libya, Egypt, Palestine, Somalia, and the list goes on. Basically, remember the world. Maybe for a minute, we can all mourn those lost due to the loss of love in people's hearts and learn something.
Let us revive that love for humanity we all once had. Unite with the love of brother hood/sister hood. Stand up against corruption, against oppression, against hate. We are all one. Created by one no matter what our different faiths, nationalities or views. So why do we not embrace one another with arms of forgiveness? Forget the little things. Think of the big picture. Humanity needs us, so let us open our hearts to it. Instead of openly conforming to ignorance and indulging in so many worldly thing that we can not see the true creation. Let us show the world that one smile, one moment of kindness, one acknowledgment or one prayer is something more.
Please take these words with you, and do an act of kindness this Valentine's Day. Whether it is spreading awareness, showing a stranger an act of kindness, forgiving a little, or accepting yourself for who you are.
Because in the end, love has so many aspects. Its more that just the lust in the movies, its having a heart that bleeds for others when you see them suffering, and that is all I ask of you.
Thank You, Dallah Abd
